Post-Certification Enrichment Day – for those already certified in any Laban/Bartenieff program (CMA, CLMA, GL-CMA, etc.)
10:00am-1:00pm: The Inner/Outer Body Space Continuum: Connecting the Inside to the Outside
with WholeMovement members Cat Maguire and Karen Studd
We will explore our body design and how it contains and creates space. We’ll investigate the space of our actions and interactions and discuss and compare what we observe and what we experience.
1:00-2:00pm: brown bag lunch
2:00-4:00pm: The Tesseract: Moving Beyond 3 Dimensions
with Katie Sapoci Drake
In this movement-based presentation we will use the Dimensional Cross, Planes, and Cube as an entry point for experiencing the Tesseract. We will then try on the spatial affinity for Flow within the Tesseract and explore how it can be used as a tool to learn the States and Drives within a spatial model. Lastly, we will discuss questions that arise surrounding the 4th dimension including pathways, the topography of inner/outer connections, and Flow as a change-agent between dimensions.
You must attend the morning workshop in order to participate in the afternoon session.
